Kaitlyn Atkins, Ph.D., MPH

Dr. Kaitlyn Atkins is faculty in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is a social epidemiologist who uses mixed methods research to optimize health equity, with a focus on communities disengaged or underreached by services because of stigma. Her work focuses on documenting and addressing stigma to improve the quality of services for historically marginalized groups (incarcerated individuals, LGBTQ+ individuals, sex workers, people who use drugs, and others). Dr. Atkins has projects in Baltimore, across the United States, and in sub-Saharan Africa.
