
Helping people gain access to opportunities is at the core of both his personal and professional lives. Previously Sean Stinnett worked in the Office of Business Programs for the Maryland Department of General Services as their Procurement Review Group (PRG) Administrator. There he assists in maximizing small, minority, and veteran-owned businesses participation in State contracts. Now Sean is the Deputy Director, Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business & Director of Baltimore Main Streets.
Sean was raised to appreciate public service and value hard work. A native of West Baltimore, Sean is a proud graduate of Baltimore City Public Schools. On the collegiate level, Sean has earned an A.A. Degree in Mass Communications/Media Studies at Baltimore City Community College and a B.S. Degree in Sports & Fitness Administration with minors in Journalism and Business Management at Coppin State University.
Sean has been an active resident in the city of Baltimore particularly in the 41st District. He has over 25 years serving in several community service capacities. Sean began his service as a student mentor for the Academic Champions of Excellence Program at Morgan State University. Currently he is the President of the West Arlington Improvement Association, President of the Liberty-Wabash Presidents Alliance, Board Member Baltimore Area Council–Boy Scouts of America, Executive Board Member of the Gwynn Oak Islamic Community, Alumni Council member at Baltimore School for the Arts, Senior member of COR/300 Men March Movement, former School Family Council member at The Mount Washington School and Vice-Chairman for Xpressive4ever Dance, Inc. Sean is also the co-founder of the Edmondson Village Farmers Market and co-manages the Howard Park Community Farmers Market. Sean believes that we show how much we care by how much we do and his leadership in the community is a testament to how much he cares about making our schools better, our streets safer and our businesses local.
